December 14, 2006 - New Citation Formatting Tool
The Mars Journal now offers an easy web-based tool that allows authors to look up citations in the NASA Astrophysics Datasystem bibliographic database and automatically format and hotlink them for insertion into their Mars Journal manuscripts. See Author Tools for more details.
November 2, 2005 - First Papers Published
The Mars Journal published its first two papers today - a four-page editorial entitled The Mars Journal by David A. Paige, and 54-page science paper entitled The sedimentary rocks of Sinus Meridiani: Five key observations from data acquired by the Mars Global Surveyor and Mars Odyssey orbiters by Kenneth S. July 21, 2005 - New Manuscript Template Released
Version 1.1 of The Mars Journal manuscript template has been released. It incorporates new features based on feedback from prospective authors, and includes capabilities for full-page figures and tables.
Prospective authors are encouraged to register, login, download manuscript templates, and prepare manuscripts for submission.
July 18, 2005 - First Manuscript Submitted

As part of NASA's effort to grow and strengthen the Mars community, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) has initiated a three-year contract with Mars Informatics Inc. to cover the full cost of offering The Mars Journal, a peer-reviewed, open access, online journal for Mars science, technology and policy.
